Venkatamma of Bijwar village, Utkoor mandal in Mehbubnagar district is a Class 10 topper who scored a whopping 95% marks. She has risen above the rest in her endeavour to break the shackles of her poverty by her outstanding results. Her parents Chennaiah and Chandramma provide for the family by working as agricultural labour. She has 3 siblings – 2 sisters and an elder brother and the family lives in difficult living conditions in a kuchha thatched house.
Venkatamma is an enthusiastic Nanhi Kali who wishes to support her family in future. She likes Mathematics most and wants to become a Government Lecturer. She has scored 100 % in Mathematics, Telegu, Hindi, and Social studies. She is very thankful for being a Nanhi Kali because of which she has come so far. The tremendous poverty in her family had earlier resulted in her discontinuation of education. After becoming a Nanhi Kali scholar from 2009, she worked hard, attended school and Academic Support Centre (ASC) regularly. For her Class 10 board examination she put extra effort to learn concepts quickly and studied harder. She also has helped with household chores during her free time.
Venkatamma says the Annual Exam Support organized by Naandi was extremely helpful as the special tuitions helped in recollecting and revising the syllabus many times which helped in scoring high marks. She gives her gratitude to Project Nanhi kali which gives a lending hand to girls like her who have great potential but cannot afford education.
Our Nanhi Kali Venkatamma has made us proud and we wish her the best for her future!
