Nagaveni is class IV Nanhi Kali from PS Maldakal, Mahabubnagar. She lives with her mother Mrs. Padmamma who is a daily wage labourer, her sister who is in LKG from the Dama Govindappa Memorial School and her grandmother in the Maldakal village.
Nagaveni and her family used to live in Bangalore where her father worked as a migrant labourer in the plantations. He passed away due to heart disease after which her mother moved back to her hometown with her children. Nagaveni’s mother is the sole breadwinner of the family and works as a daily wage labourer. Even though she has been struggling to support her family, she never gave up on her children’s education. Nagaveni follows her mother’s passion and is a keen and attentive learner. She managed to maintain an attendance level of 92% at school and 80% at the Academic Support Centre and performed impressively in her annual examinations. She is a hardworking student and aims to score a grade of A+ for the annual examinations of the current academic year.
Nagaveni is a friendly and caring child who takes an active interest in sport activities, especially Kho-Kho and Kabaddi. Her goal in life is to become a teacher so that she can work at a local school and bring back all the dropouts so that they attend classes regularly.
Her mother says that she will word hard to help fulfil her daughter dreams. She expresses her heartfelt gratitude to project Nanhi Kali for all the support that they have provided for her daughter’s education.
