The 12th edition of the Mahindra Blues Festival, which took place in Mumbai on 10th and 11th February 2024, brought forth a unique harmony with Nanhi Kali X Kanakia Beatz Crew joining forces, marking a continued commitment to the “Blues in Schools” program. With the theme of this edition being “Celebrating The Women In Blues,” 19 Nanhi Kalis took center stage, captivating the audience with a performance that ignited thunderous applause and cheers.
Under the guidance of Felix Hug, Conductor, Music Director & Head of Arts Dept at Kanakia International School, this inclusive initiative persevered, with dedicated weekly training sessions for the Nanhi Kali choir alongside the school’s own choral ensemble.
This remarkable opportunity not only heightened the Nanhi Kalis’ self-confidence but also unveiled their latent creative potential. We, at Project Nanhi Kali, are deeply appreciative of Mahindra Blues’ gracious gesture in providing our girls with a platform to express themselves musically and nurture their aspirations.
As the performance drew to a close, the girls had the honour of acknowledging Mr. Sangma Conrad, Chief Minister of Meghalaya, and Mr. Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra Group and Trustee of KCMET, facilitated through an engaging exchange on X between the two dignitaries.
