About The Initiative

In a world where the girl child is marginalised and discriminated against, we believe it’s important for fathers, who value their bond with their precious daughters above most else, to stand up for the cause of the girl child. Since its inception in 2014, Proud Fathers For Daughters has been driven by the purpose of celebrating the endearing father-daughter bond.

In support of Project Nanhi Kali, the ‘Proud Fathers For Daughters’ campaign has successfully celebrated and empowered over 700 girl children for the last 3 years. Now in the fourth season, it is poised to give many more fathers a chance to show the world their immeasurable love, admiration and pride for their daughters.

This year we welcome back some of India’s top photographers, Atul Kasbekar, Colston Julian, Jaideep Oberoi and Prasad Naik.

Since inception, Project Nanhi Kali has reached out to over 3,00,000 girls across 14 states in India and currently educates over 1,27,000 girls across 11 states.
A majority of these girls live in remote, rural and tribal areas as well as urban slums.
With the provision of academic, material and social support, these girls get the empowering opportunity to rescript their destinies.
