Nanhi Cricketers train with Sachin Tendulkar

Each child is creation of nature, brimming with talent and potential, ready to be tapped into and honed. While some children are lucky to find the right direction to enhance their skills, there are those whose talents never see the light of the day, merely because of lack of the right opportunity and poor or no guidance.

And when it comes to Cricket, the name Sachin Tendulkar instantly clicks with everyone in the world. So, when the opportunity arose to be trained personally by the Master Blaster himself, quite a few of our Nanhi Kalis came forward as Nanhi Cricketers, full of excitement to grab this opportunity! It really was a task to convince some of their parents to allow them to attend this camp, as this would eat into their free summer vacation (which could perhaps otherwise go into taking care of household chores or helping with generating additional income during these holidays), but 10 girls successfully attended this camp.

It was a 4-day extensive program, run by Tendulkar Middlesex Global Academy, in association with Bayside Sports, designed to train children in the age group of 7-18 years in professional Cricket along with overall athletic development and sports psychology through Cricket. With children divided into two batches (ages 7-12 & 13-18), each child was given personal attention by the coaches of this camp, including by Master Blaster himself, who took out the time to interact with all the kids and all our Nanhi Kalis too. The girls were indeed very happy to learn the tricks of the trade with such accomplished players and made most of the opportunity with their complete dedication and focus. Here is a sneak peak into their time in the camp:
