About The Initiative
The Proud Fathers For Daughters campaign has successfully celebrated and empowered the girl child for the last 2 years. In support of Project Nanhi Kali, that provides underprivileged girls with education support, it now enters its third year and is poised to give fathers a chance to show the world their immeasurable love, admiration and pride for their daughters.
In a world where the girl child is routinely marginalised and discriminated against, we believe it’s important for fathers, who value their bond with their precious daughters above most else, to stand up for the cause of the girl child.
Since inception Project Nanhi Kali has reached out to over 200,000 girls and currently educates over 120,000 girls. A majority of these girls live in remote, rural and tribal areas across 10 states in India. By providing them with academic, material and social support, these girls are given the empowering opportunity to rewrite their futures. This campaign has seen immense success in previous years, with fathers and daughters from all walks of life participating. You can view special moments from the event here.
This year we welcome back some of India’s top photographers, Atul Kasbekar, Colstan Julian, Prasad Naik.
